Komodo National Park seen from the air

Charters · From Bali

A flight, then a boat

Denpasar to Labuan Bajo is about 520 km and just over an hour in the air. Then it is the same crossing everybody else makes. Bali is not close, and no package changes that.

In short

Reaching Manta Point from Bali means flying DPS to LBJ first, then continuing by boat. Nothing departs Bali for Komodo by sea on a schedule worth planning around.

  • DPS–LBJ is about 1 hour 5–10 minutes
  • Three days minimum from Bali, realistically
  • Book flight and boat as one, or accept the risk

Do not carry Nusa Penida’s pricing across. That Manta Point is a different site in a different marine protected area with its own fees.

What you get

How to book it

Two ways, and one of them fails badly.

Speedboat crossing in Komodo

One package

Flight, transfer, hotel and boat booked together. If a flight moves, the operator moves the boat. This is the version that survives a delay.

Boat moored at an island jetty

Booked separately

Cheaper on paper. But a delayed morning flight out of Denpasar and a boat that left without you is a whole day gone and nobody to call.

Liveaboard at anchor

Build in a spare day

Three days works if nothing slips. Four is what makes it comfortable, and it costs one hotel night against losing the manta day entirely.

Padar Island viewpoint

Not a day trip from Bali

Anyone selling Komodo as a day trip out of Denpasar is selling you two flights and a rush. It is not the same thing.

The gap between the two prices is roughly what you would pay to insure a lost day. Decide whether that is a good trade for your schedule.
